Incubation (2003-2005)
All Saints Anglican Church was born from a small house group which met weekly prior to 2003. In 2003 the House group disassociated from the mainline denomination with which it had been associated, and between 2003 and 2005 met autonomously for worship, prayer and bible study. By the summer of 2003 the group decided to move toward the formation of a church and that the first public service would be held on the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2005. November 27th came, and the first service was conducted by Bishop William Cox, who charged us to become a beacon of hope and light in the Springfield area. |
Infancy (2005-2011)
From 2005-2011, the fledgling congregation met at Immanuel Lutheran Church, a small and gracious congregation of the Free Lutheran Church of America. In those 6 years the congregation more than doubled in size from its original 23 members and also, with a few stormy seasons along the way, clarified its vision for leadership. This resulted in the calling of the Rev'd. Douglas McGlynn as rector in 2011. |
Youth (2011-2014)
In 2011, God blessed All Saints with 17 acres of land on which was located a sizable house that was soon remodeled to provide for the worshipping life of the congregation. This became known as the "Galloway House". Here membership continued to grow as worship flourished and ministries were developed. The congregation's identity became increasingly clarified as a biblically-grounded Anglican church open to the continuing activity of the Holy Spirit. Worship was enriched with the arrival of Bob & Luanne Coltmann whose music ministry supplemented to the already fine work of our organist, Dick Pickard. Due to the growing size of the congregation, Micah Chisholm was called as an Assistant to Fr. Doug. Construction of the new building (on the same property, just 100 yds away from Galloway House) began in the summer of 2012 and was completed in the Spring of 2014.

The Present (2014 - )
The first services in the new building took place in April of 2014. The building was formally consecrated by our Archbishop (Robert Duncan) in May 2014, and as those who have been nurturing the growth of the Church from the beginning adapt to all the new and marvelous possibilities of the new space, fresh faces are coming in the door and members are constantly being added. Fr. Micah received a call to a different church-tradition, and his position as assistant was soon filled by Fr. Ben Jefferies. Fr. Ben worked under Fr. Doug to continue to deepen and grow this extraordinary church to truly be a place where the Gospel and Tradition meet, and where lives are transformed by the Living God. After two years, he received a call to be rector of a church in Alabama. After over 50 years of committed ministry in the Episcopalian and Anglican churches, Fr. Doug retired from his position as rector and was honored with the position of rector emeritus.
Fr. Joe Murphy received the call to be our interim rector while we spent a few months praying and seeking the next priest that God wished to call to take over the leadership of this parish. In March of 2017 Fr. Eric Zolner was called from Colorado as our rector. In August 2021 Fr. Eric accepted a Rector position at a church in California and Fr. Brad Wilson came aboard as our Interim Rector. Fr. Kaelan Clay was called as the Rector at All Saints and served from August 2022, until June 2024. What began in a living room with a few faithful souls has grown into a passionate and committed parish church. God alone knows what lies in store, and who might be a part of it...perhaps you? |
