Ushers
Our ushers play a low-key, but important, role in the Sunday morning service and occasionally at other church services. We greet people, hand out hymnals, bulletins, and other printed material. We check lighting, sound, temperature, and a host of other things that are critical to a smooth service. Of course, we also collect the day's offering and guide members of the congregation and guests to the altar when it is time for the weekly eucharist.
From the beginning, the usher crew has prided itself on being open to men, women, and children of all ages and have currently all three represented.
Our ushers, who serve on a rotational basis, are Paul Long, Charlie Murdock, the Johnson family (D.J., Erika, and Abbie), David Bell, Herb Bockhorst, Elliott Bourne, Kevin Larkin and head usher, Dennis Frame.
